(HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!) Alexand Merek has been unable to return to the army, due to her asylum record. She spends most of her time very isolated and alone, as her husband, Jarad teaches English to rich Indian families and often spends day’s away working. She is not accepted in her community and cannot get a job teaching music because of her conviction. Her son Samuel is unable to go to school, due to the stigma attached to her imprisonment. Alexand spends a lot of time teaching him at home, but is sinking deeper into depression and alcoholism. One day a knock at the door changes her family’s prospects. (Note: The ‘writer’ is a transportation and storage device common amongst the resistance, and was created by Anesidor Sumian.) CLICK HERE for next chronological story.

About The Characters
The blurb for Unbound Boxes Limping Gods
(Set in 4041, the first book begins on Christmas Island, Japan.) Alexand Merek is a woman who treasures "Bad Things," and delights in music. She has done something stupid, placing those she loves in danger. Women like her are not welcome in the ordinary world, where women who play piano and dance with wives are placed into, "The Bad Thing Box." Alexand must fight to bring her lost family back together to save them from an unimaginable fate. (If you would like to see this book published, please press the follow button. The writer gives life to a story, but the reader keeps it alive.)This is for you Dad.
My stories and my world are dedicated to you, Dad. You died before I was old enough to know who you were. I will try to find you in my stories, to go to places far away from this world, to search for you. Maybe one day I'll know you again. Until then I'll keep writing. I'll never forget you. Finally got my coffee, and now ready to read your story. Thank you Cheryl for posting your creative stories, gives me a chance to take time away from my own life and read. Wishing you a safe, happy and healthy new year filled with love and peace.
Thank you so much and a Happy New Year to you too! Aaah coffee. Wish I could have some of that, but it’s 0.40 at night here
Dreaming of coffee in the morning
Hope you have a nice hot coffee and maybe have a chocolate biscuit or three! Take care.
This is great. That is all.

Hi Sophie, Happy New Year to you too!
Thank you !
Happy New Year, Cheryl.
I found the expression; “I’ll put you off your dinner” to be interesting. Never heard it said quite that way.
Cheers
Hi Kenny, yes Alexand has quite a warped sense of humour! Happy New Year to you too! Cheryl
Just wonderful. So interesting!
Thank you so much and Happy New Year to you! Cheryl
This is excellent. What irony that the possible escape from the claustrophobic confinement of the house is something as rigid as the army. My money’s on her doing it as well. Your drawings are so full of drama – I love it that they always add another layer of meaning to/ comment on the text. Happy New Year, Cheryl!
Happy New Year to you too, Richard! Thank you. Yes Alexand’s choices are pretty limited, and her history with Abouna Panak’s pretty ropy. Glad you like this one as it’s one of the original concept stories. (although it’s much more developed than it was when I started writing this series
)
Thanks for dropping by my blog Cheryl. I am absolutely blown away by the type of work you do here. It is beautiful and powerful. Love it so much. Thanks for sharing your talent with the world.

This is fascinating. Do you do the drawings?
Hi Sandra, good to meet you, thank you! Yes the drawings are mine.
Good to meet you too. You are truly multi-talented.
Hi Cheryl. Thank you so much for liking my poem ‘The Football Ground’. Best Wishes. The Foureyed Poet.
your sketches genuinely feel like the images our mind conjures up while reading a story!..brilliant!
Thanks Apurva, I’m glad you’re enjoying reading them and it makes me really happy I can share their world with you visually as well.
