Doris (Inajda’s mother) was born in Russia and won a scholarship to a prestigious international school. She loved dancing. It brought her great joy. (This story is dedicated to my Nan. A very strong and brave lady. Throughout her life, my Nan has been a very inspiring woman, who was one of the cleverest and fairest people I’ve had the privilege to know. Most people leave positive impressions, but there are those who do much more. Nan has shaped my life. I loved this – as I read it I felt warmth in my chest…a happy, familiar feeling I get sometimes when I feel like a child in a grown up body…if that makes sense.
It really does make sense. I think as we live through more and more experiences, our sense of joy remains (even through moments of sadness) as we reflect on happy times.
Why do I like this? Because it is a lovely vignette, and the teacher reminds me of some one very special … thank you for rekindling fond memories.
