About the Characters
The blurb for Unbound Boxes Limping Gods
(Set in 4041, the first book begins on Christmas Island, Japan.) Alexand Merek is a woman who treasures "Bad Things," and delights in music. She has done something stupid, placing those she loves in danger. Women like her are not welcome in the ordinary world, where women who play piano and dance with wives are placed into, "The Bad Thing Box." Alexand must fight to bring her lost family back together to save them from an unimaginable fate. (If you would like to see this book published, please press the follow button. The writer gives life to a story, but the reader keeps it alive.)This is for you Dad.
My stories and my world are dedicated to you, Dad. You died before I was old enough to know who you were. I will try to find you in my stories, to go to places far away from this world, to search for you. Maybe one day I'll know you again. Until then I'll keep writing. I'll never forget you. Haha! Heyem is sooooooooo mean. You know what? Same with my sister, she doesn’t know that she’s hurting anyone with her words. Smart but yet so clueless. LMAO!
I love this story. The drawings are fantabulous! Cross-eyed Alex with a wig, makes me smile…
lol, yes, Heyem’s empathy switch isn’t quite connected to her brain! I love writing Alexand’s responses though!
I love Alex’s sarcasms too! But, from my own experience, sarcastic as I am, heh!heh!…they don’t work with people like Heyem or my sis. Maybe one day they will comprehend…or..NOT?! LOL!
Ah yes this type of sarcasm is very dangerous when used on such people! But Alexand loves the danger. She thrives on irritating her sister lol. (I’m too much of a coward to stick up for myself in front of said people, but I admire Alexand’s guts! It’s very liberating to write scenes with Heyem and Alex.)
Nice!
Thank you!
Cheryl,
Thanks so very much for liking and following my posts. Best wishes to you and all of the characters in your extraordinary stories. May they all find true peace!!
Thank you, and likewise. I appreciate you taking the time to read the stories.
I absolutely love this episode (partly for personal reasons)! You’ve really nailed Heyem’s personality type, for which I’m very grateful.
I’m glad, Richard! Yep, Heyem is based loosely on someone I know. (Won’t mention who) lol It’s nice to have Alex say what I’d like to say to this person in real life. (If only I had the guts)
You’re brilliant.
*Blushes* Thank you, Millie.
wonderful! I like there
Thank you!
the drawings and the text are interconnected. the way you write keeps me away. dynamic, interesting.
….Keeps me awake.
Lol, thank you. I love the perspective in your photography (and I love black and white photos) Good to meet you.
nice to meet you too
I love the bit about how placing a wig on Alexand’d head was like “injecting her with a rainbow” cool way of putting it.
Hi Dom, sorry about the delayed response, just seen your comment :O Yep Alex is ultra sarcastic when it comes to Heyem, but it’s a lot of fun to write. Glad you enjoyed it. All the best, Cheryl
Thanks for discovering my blog, which led me to discover yours! You combine writing/illustrating talent at a very high level, and I love the sub-head to your blog (“The writer gives life to a story, the reader keeps it alive”). So well said.
Hi, Penny. Thank you and likewise. I very much enjoyed looking at your photography, particularly the found art. Good to meet you. I’m glad you visited and like the stories.
A reminder to us all not to be a pain in the arse!
Hayem’s look is fascinating, sardonic I think is the word. Interesting creation.
