After showing Alexand Merek the plague victims in her laboratory, (see issue 33: Amanojuko Part 1) Katherine De Somme is about to share a dangerous secret with her young cadet. (Please note, the ‘nightmare’ is a reference to the girl (Baio-Yujia Sun) Alexand accidentally killed. A girl who still haunts Alexand. See Baio-Yujia Sun and There’s No Place Like Home.) About The Characters
The blurb for Unbound Boxes Limping Gods
(Set in 4041, the first book begins on Christmas Island, Japan.) Alexand Merek is a woman who treasures "Bad Things," and delights in music. She has done something stupid, placing those she loves in danger. Women like her are not welcome in the ordinary world, where women who play piano and dance with wives are placed into, "The Bad Thing Box." Alexand must fight to bring her lost family back together to save them from an unimaginable fate. (If you would like to see this book published, please press the follow button. The writer gives life to a story, but the reader keeps it alive.)This is for you Dad.
My stories and my world are dedicated to you, Dad. You died before I was old enough to know who you were. I will try to find you in my stories, to go to places far away from this world, to search for you. Maybe one day I'll know you again. Until then I'll keep writing. I'll never forget you. I must say the part about Ichitumbu’s ear growing back gave me chills. The possibility of something like that actually helping are just too frightening for comfort… I’m just getting to know these characters but this is definitely an interesting story. Can’t wait to keep reading.
Hi Rita, and welcome. Thanks for taking time to read this story. Cheryl
You need to be writing books your so awesome at making us believe the story is true thanks for sharing bradley
Hi Bradley, thank you, that means a lot. I’ve written a series of books for this series, which I’m hopefully one day going to get published. It’s really encouraging that you’d like to read them. This makes me happy
Cheryl
Thanks for the like and the follow Cheryl!
You’re welcome!
Interesting premise. A pretty good read. It reminds me of a movie with Sean Connery in it where people live an eternal life. I believe it was called
Zardoz made in 1974. Sean’s part was that of a killer who is brought into an eternal community that is so bored they look forward to being killed. Living forever is a dream that can lead to ennui. I wonder if man or women was meant to live so long. By the way the drawings are excellent.
I would appreciate if you could read my other short stories and comment on them. I will be adding more in the next week. Thanks for your input. I honor your acknowledgement now having read your works. Barry
Hi Barry, oh yes I saw Zardoz when I was younger and enjoyed it, can’t remember it clearly but I remember a big floating head and a garden of eternal youth or something along those lines. Thanks for reading, btw I only have access to your gravavatar when I click on awax1217 for some reason, and have lost the link to your site. Would it be possible for you to post it here so I can read more of your stories? I’m glad you liked this story and also the drawings. Thanks for visiting. I appreciate it. Best wishes, Cheryl
