Abouna Panak’s life is going to change more than he can imagine. He has been left an orphan at the age of ten, but has no time to grieve for his mother’s loss. After he discovered his mother laying in the kitchen, with a suicide note, he was greeted by a very dubious man. Abouna has no other living family. His mother never told him why. The man in the balaclava isn’t responsible for his mother’s death, in fact his mother seemed to trust him. Who is this Guild Master’s General, and why would Abouna’s mother wish for him to travel with him after her death? CLICK HERE for next chronological story.

About The Characters
The blurb for Unbound Boxes Limping Gods
(Set in 4041, the first book begins on Christmas Island, Japan.) Alexand Merek is a woman who treasures "Bad Things," and delights in music. She has done something stupid, placing those she loves in danger. Women like her are not welcome in the ordinary world, where women who play piano and dance with wives are placed into, "The Bad Thing Box." Alexand must fight to bring her lost family back together to save them from an unimaginable fate. (If you would like to see this book published, please press the follow button. The writer gives life to a story, but the reader keeps it alive.)This is for you Dad.
My stories and my world are dedicated to you, Dad. You died before I was old enough to know who you were. I will try to find you in my stories, to go to places far away from this world, to search for you. Maybe one day I'll know you again. Until then I'll keep writing. I'll never forget you. I love the international nature of your stories.
The characters come from all over the world, it’s really important to the story as there are so many people involved in this mythology. I come from quite a quiet part of Southern England, which may be classed as somewhat ethnocentric in it’s view of the world. I spent some of my childhood in Iran so was exposed to another culture at a very young age. I realised there were various ways of viewing and living in the world. My characters speak different languages, although this is translated to English for the benefit of the reader. (And for communication purposes..) For example, my main character Alexand was born in China, so her first language is Mandarin. Her mother, Inajda, is Russian, Anesidor is American, Juba was born in Somalia, Katherine’s parents are Indian and French..etc… I feel it’s so important to the flavour of EVERYTHING and makes for so many possible stories and challenges..I hope people can relate to them because they are real people from so many different backgrounds…
So poignant! I love how your stories all have such heart – and I’m a sucker for time travel stories when they’re done well.
Thanks, Chantal, that Guild Master’s General really knows how to create unease and chaos… “Run away from him, Abouna… run away, now!!!” I just wish we had the ability to time travel and teleport too… waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh
